Glaucoma causes progressive and irreversible damage to the optic nerve and is one of the leading causes of vision loss or blindness. Thankfully, it is also a highly treatable condition when diagnosed early.
We use the current standard of care testing to help differentially diagnose, track, and treat glaucoma. Glaucoma is a silent disease which means it has no symptoms and the loss of vision often goes unnoticed until the disease is quite advanced. Glaucoma is also a progressive disease that requires ongoing monitoring and adjustments to the treatment approach. There are an array of treatment methods used including surgery such as selective laser trabeculoplasty, tube and valve procedures and topical medications. With proper treatment vision loss from glaucoma can be halted or minimized.
